How mennula scores a CV

A score is only worth something if you can trust it. Here is what mennula does so the right person never slips past you, and what it does when a CV leaves something out.

You always make the call. mennula ranks people and shows its working, and nothing goes to a client or a candidate without your yes.

Unsure, ask first. Could be 50 to 100.

  • What salary are you looking for?
Could move the score by up to 17 points.
  • Have you sold insurance products?
Could move the score by up to 8 points.

Why you can trust the score

Proof for every tick

When we say a CV meets a requirement, we show the exact words from the CV that prove it. If the words aren't there, it doesn't count.

No guessing

When a CV leaves something out, we don't fill the gap. You see how high or low the score could go, and the question that would settle it.

Checked twice

Every CV is read more than once. If the reads disagree on a line, you get a question to ask, not a coin toss.

Nobody slips past

We keep checking the people just below your top 5. If someone deserves a spot, they get one, marked "Found on a second look".

Tricks don't work

Some CVs hide white text or secret instructions aimed at AI. We find them, take them out before scoring and show you what we found.

Fair from the start

Names, contact details, suburbs and schools are hidden before the AI reads a CV. We test every scoring change on matching CVs where only those details differ. If the score moves, the change doesn't go live.

You agree what counts, before anyone is scored

Paste a job ad and mennula turns it into a checklist. Each line says what counts as met, so every CV is judged the same way.

Things a CV can't show, like attitude, become interview questions instead of guesses. Lines that could discriminate unfairly, like an age limit, are flagged before you save.

Years on a CV say little on their own. We score what the job needs, not how long someone has been working.

Questions

Does mennula decide who gets the job?

No. It ranks people and shows its working. You decide who to call, and nothing reaches a client or a candidate without your yes.

Why is a score sometimes a range?

Because the CV left something out. We show how high or low the score could go, and the questions that would settle it. Ask them, and the range closes.

What if someone doesn't meet a requirement?

They're listed separately with the reason and the words from the CV, never hidden. If you know something the CV doesn't say, tap Include anyway.

Can a candidate trick the score?

Hidden text and instructions aimed at AI are removed before scoring, and the CV is flagged so you can see what was tried. Every Met still needs real words from the CV.

Is it fair?

The AI never sees names, contact details, suburbs or schools. Every change to our scoring is tested on pairs of CVs that differ only in those details, and it ships only if their scores stay within 2 points.

Are our CVs used to train AI?

No. Your CVs stay in your agency's own database in South Africa. We improve mennula from counts, like how often a score was marked right, never from the words in a CV.
